Biography

Bene Dionysius Rajagukguk (born on March 2, 1990, in Dolok Masihul, North Sumatra) is an Indonesian stand-up comedian, director, writer, and actor of Batak descent. He completed his education at SMA Negeri 1 Tebing Tinggi in 2009. Bene's career in the entertainment industry began when he participated in the third season of Stand Up Comedy Indonesia on Kompas TV in 2013. His distinctive performance with a Batak accent made him widely recognized. In addition to stand-up comedy, Bene is also active as a screenwriter and director. He was involved in writing screenplays for films such as Cek Toko Sebelah (2016) and Suzzanna: Bernapas dalam Kubur (2018). His directorial debut was the film Ghost Writer in 2019. In 2022, Bene directed the film Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap, which successfully garnered more than 2 million viewers. The film, which tells the story of a Batak family, received positive appreciation from various audiences. Additionally, Bene is active in podcasts and audio shows and has worked as a comedy consultant for several films. His works often highlight cultural themes and everyday life with his signature humor.
